Erik Peekel, founder and creative at Aaaaha! the Actor Factory

Erik Peekel is a professional meeting designer and one of the most popular conference moderators of the Netherlands. In 1999 he founded Aaaaha! the Actor Factory, a live communications company that adds interaction and storytelling to conferences and events. Over the past years Erik has presented a series of masterclasses involving more than 1600 organisers of meetings and events. The participants exchanged their practical tips on enhancing the user experience of their events. In 2015 Erik published a book covering the most valuable tips from the masterclasses (in Dutch). At the European Meetings & Events Conference he will share some of the best and original ideas. As a conference moderator Erik presents an average of three events per week. His specialty is to involve and engage all participants. In his company Erik works with a team of dedicated meeting designers plus a cast of actors, presenters, filmmakers, illustrators and workshopleaders. Together they boost event-impact for associations, corporations and government bodies.

During this session you will learn how to trigger and convince invitees to attend your meeting, how to design an engaging event programme and involve participants in every aspect of your meeting.

Michael Pryner, CMP, Head of Advisory Services at ConsensusOnline

Michael Leslie Pryner, 52, Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) and a long time member of MPI Denmark Chapter. More than 20 years of experience in planning events. Formerly known as Head of Events in one of Scandinavia's largest financial groups, and now as Head of Advisory Services in ConsensusOnline, which is a Danish company that helps companies all over the world implementing modern technology in their events to create audience participation and increase ROMI. Michael is known in Denmark as a first mover on implementation of new technology in meetings and conferences and he has a vast experience in lecturing about it within the meeting industry. He is also part of the crew that educates the Danish meeting planners in the Meetovation concept, and he has his own column about event apps and technology in the Danish Meetings & Events Magazine which is distributed to more than 13,000 readers 6 times per year. In private, Michael is a skilled magician. He has been President of The Magic Circle in Denmark and likes to include some of his trickery as ice breakers in his lectures.

Michael Pryner educational session at EMEC16: Crash Course in Audience Participation Technology – How to Get Started Using Smartphones and Tablets In Your Events

This session is an introduction to the basic requirements and terminology of audience participation technology – activating those smartphones and tablets in your attendees' hands.
Don't worry if you consider yourself a technical illiterate. No worries if you don't have an iPad, we will provide an iPad Mini for each participant at this session. Lots of hands-on demonstrations included. We’ll also touch on rentals or BYOD, bring-your-own-device, as well as critical requirements and some of the pitfalls to avoid.
You will get hands experience on how to push open and closed test questions to your audience through their own phones or tablets, and you will be able to try some of the features exclusively made for full service solutions with iPads. The session is wrapped up with a small quiz using phones and tablets.
