Jessie States - Manager of Professional Development at MPI
Jessie States is the manager of professional development for Meeting Professionals International, where she delivers education in support of MPI’s global live event portfolio by researching, sourcing, evaluating and managing speakers, trainers and facilitators for MPI and MPI partner programs. She also works with MPI partners and sponsors to create industry-leading case studies and sessions, sharing best practices from companies across the globe. Jessie has been a part of the meeting and event community since 2006, when she joined MPI as a storyteller for The Meeting Professional magazine. She showed a passion and aptitude for events and moved over to the world of research in 2011 before joining the education team as a content designer in 2013. Jessie is responsible for the "future of meetings" area at MPI's annual World Education Congress.
Technology adoption accelerates when there are processes, standards and resources in place to simplify and support its usage. The same is true for the technologies at your events. Identify best practices in creating and managing these technologies by looking at them from a variety of perspectives. Preview breakthroughs from a ground breaking research study that examined network and Wi-Fi, registration and badging, mobile, engagement, social, digital signage, hardware acquisition, attendee tracking, content capture and streaming across different event types. Understand who and how decisions are made in terms of planning and executing technology, and how to use best practices at your organization.
Jessie States will also hold a session on SMM: Measuring the Elusive Outcomes of Meetings and Events
In this highly interactive session, discover how to measure the outcomes we shout—beyond leads, satisfaction and sales. With insights into how value is moving up the meetings’ agenda, discover the latest thinking into what meeting professionals need to evidence, and how they can do it. Share your own insights and perspectives on the purpose and practicalities of measuring delegate/participant experience at events, and how much meeting professionals can discover without even asking. The session includes some co-creation, as we gather insights into measuring ROO in meetings as part of a research initiative undertaken by the UK Centre for Events Management at Leeds Beckett University (UK) supported by MPI and sponsored by Lanyon.
MPI is looking for subject matter experts in the areas of technology and innovation for a special speaking opportunity at the upcoming European Meetings and Events Conference 7-9 February 2016. In the event’s EduLab, MPI will be hosting a Knowledge Café on technology and a PechaKucha on innovation and what’s new and next for 2016. If you already plan on attending the EMEC event, and you are a subject matter expert or speaker in one of these areas, email Jessie States for consideration in one of these two formats.
