CSR best practices and future innovations at MPI France Switzerland event ComInRSE and at EMEC16 in Copenhagen

ComInRSE is MPI France Switzerland first event dedicated to Corporate Social Responsibility implications for the Meeting & Event Industry. An important topic that will be discussed also during EMEC16.

Julien Carlier, President MPI France Switzerland and CEO Social Dynamite shared his point of view on first successful edition of ComInRSE, on CSR and EMEC16:

MPI France Switzerland was honoured to host at ComInRSE Pierre Henri Guignard, General Secretary of the COP21, who explained how the United Nations conference on climate change can be a model to follow in changing the way events are held and inspire progress.
The former Permanent Observer of France to the Organization of American States listed concrete actions implemented during the COP21: free public transport passes to accredited participants, water fountains, water flask distribution and innovative on-site waste management through an optical sorting system.

During the event the discussion evolved around the effectiveness of ISO 20121 regulation and certification. ISO 20121 is a management system standard that has been designed to help organisations in the events industry improve the sustainability of their activities, products and services. Organisations can seek ISO 20121 certification in order to demonstrate that they meet the requirements of the standard. The regulation applies to all types and sizes of organisations involved in the events industry – from caterers and venues to independent event organisers and public sector event teams.

MPI France Switzerland provided attendees the chance to learn and debate on other important topics such as CSR impact on the relationship with the sponsors and CSR best practices in sport events. The speakers also gave examples of bad choices and failures to learn from and avoid in the future.

With this new annual appointment, MPI France Switzerland Chapter intends to develop CSR awareness and to offer the entire community a training opportunity and a unique meeting place around a subject that affects us all.

Béatrice Eastham, Director of the CSR programme at MPI France Switzerland, Founder and Director at Green Événements interview about MPI event and CSR best practices:

As anticipated, Corporate Social Responsibility will also be one of the main topics at EMEC16. The European Meetings and Event Conference will be held following the Meetovation principles which include “Responsible thinking”.
