EMEC16 Copenhagen: "MPI Make People Interact" with Meetovation principles !

EMEC16 ended this Tuesday in Copenhagen with a positive outcome of more than 400 delegates registered and a 27% increase from previous edition.

EMEC16 featured more than 30 education sessions, including general sessions, certificate and Edulab sessions, while 21 suppliers and 24 planners participated in MPI’s Hosted Buyer Program.

During the conference attendees were introduced to Meetovation and asked to “write their own stories” in interactive sessions while discovering the secret of Danish happiness and work-life balance, the so called “hyggethe warm atmosphere and feeling of enjoying the good things in life with good people.

Meetovation, the “mind-blowing Danish meeting design concept” is based on five key elements: Active Involvement, Responsible Thinking, Creative Setup, Local Inspiration and the resultant Return on Investment (ROI) for your meetings and events. Meetovation principles have also been present in education sessions, whether utilizing LEGOs or room setups including blanket-covered crates and sofas to sit on. Breaks included “brain food”—smaller portions, healthier foods—and the opening reception at Copenhagen Street Food was a true local inspiration.

EMEC facilitators Bo Krüger and Ann Hansen leveraged social media to capture audience suggestions for the best title for the #EMEC16 book they were co-writing with the audience during the conference. The winning title revealed during the closing session is “MPI: Make People Interact”.

EMEC also had a significant impact on social media with 8.4 million impressions using the #EMEC16 hashtag, nearly 3000 tweets sent by 400-plus people, reaching an estimated 884000 people. For the first time, MPI live-streamed general session content via @MPIinEurope's Periscope channel.
