With nearly 1 million medical meetings per year, the Meeting Professional has to adapt to new planning strategies to comply with laws, regulations and mandates.
Meeting professionals brace themselves for the ever-changing laws and regulations regarding healthcare compliance. MPI reacts to the changes by working with Saint Louis University to offer the only accredited program – Healthcare Meeting Compliance Certificate (HMCC).
Every healthcare meeting professional must balance unprecedented changes and demands on understanding the global impact of healthcare compliance. They must tackle tough regulations, adjust and readjust priorities while keeping one eye on the short-term and the other long-term survival – a tough job without a continuing flow of knowledge. Any mishaps can result in huge financial penalties and even jail time.
There are 196 countries in the world and approximately 34% have compliance laws or regulations.
And they are all different, resulting in a very complex system for meeting professionals to learn. In conjunction with Saint Louis University, MPI offers the Healthcare Meeting Compliance Certificate which provides a learning foundation in key healthcare meeting disciplines.
Since July, 2013 there are nearly 300 meeting professionals, representing over 16 countries who have received their HMCC.
More information is available on the St Louis University University website.
The very first in Europe, the HMCC class will be delivered during the European Meetings & Events Conference in Krakow, Poland on February 3rd, 2015.
The Healthcare Meeting Compliance Certificate is a program providing a foundation in key healthcare disciplines in a condensed format. It is designed for those (planners and suppliers) who need a broader understanding of a full range of regulatory topics.
