This quarterly study takes a closer look at the trends and investment in meetings and events. How are the budgets going to evolve, what lies ahead with virtual attendance versus face-to-face attendance and how do Wi-Fi connection reliability and cost factor into all this.
Europe shows slow recovery.
There's an encouraging trust in meeting and event budgets growing again. 59% of the business research panelists believe that the budgets will grow, albeit moderately, whereas 23% believe they will stay flat still for some time. While budgets have increased somewhat, they generally have not risen to the levels where they can support more meetings, larger meeting and increases in costs on all fronts. The costs, however, seem to be on the rise. The study shows that doing more with less is still a trend and not likely to go away soon.
Planners are using more technology and innovative suppliers who can keep the costs down. The availability of good Wi-Fi connections in a region, of course, affects whether meeting organizers are willing to try hybrid or virtual meetings. Europe seems to have more reliable Wi-Fi offerings and not as overpriced as in the US.
